Our Solutions
We have developed products for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) diagnosis
and treatment based on the cell division cycle theory of AD pathogenesis.
Our products address the unmet needs for early diagnosis–before
irreversible brain degeneration, and eventually symptoms, occur–and
for new treatment strategies. Our cellular (lymphocyte) and genetic
assays are used sequentially to identify cell cycle deficits in patients
who are in presymptomatic stages of dementia. Our lymphocyte test
is performed first in order to establish the presence of an AD-type G1/S
cell cycle regulatory deficit. Our genetic tests are then used to determine
the patient’s particular G1/S deficit based on specific mutations in
cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor (CDKI) genes.
Because our assays target early markers and identify pathological
causes
(i.e., cell cycle deficits) of AD, they are also powerful tools for informing
R&D of disease-modifying treatment strategies. Our lead drug screen
tests compounds for disease-modifying potential in AD. Our assays offer
unique opportunities for drug and diagnostic companies in all phases of
AD product and market development, from discovery and preclinical R&D
to marketed products. |
